How do i change things on my website?

i had someone develop my website now i can't reach them to make changes. any suggestions? How do i change things on my website?
try creating a new website. sorry. but if you can't reach them and everything is wrong, you might as well get a new start.

If only somethings are wrong, email the site maker (not the one who created it) the like organization that the site is for, and tell them your problem. they are usually quite helpful. How do i change things on my website?
um well they just might be lazy and not feel like doing it,Im 14 and have my own website,which is the funniest thing ever,its a fansite for american idol's Brooke White,I luv her ok anyway just ask for the password for ur website,its rlly easy 2 edit urself!!
Ask the developer. But it could be a number of things. If it is wordpress-based then type in ';YourUrl.com/wp-admin';. If it is cPanel then ';YourUrl.com/cpanel';
It all depends on how the website was built. Is it just HTML? Does it use CSS? PHP? Javascript?

It can become very complicated.
Contact them and tell them you are going to call a lawyer if they don't give you the source code. It gets weird, but if this was a paying gig, I think they have some kind of obligation to deliver the source if requested, at least a decent developer would. Not sure if it will work, but that would scare me :)

Assuming you are completely out of the loop and have not been involved at all up to this point...

You will need FTP credentials to login to your Web server.

Connect to your Web server with an FTP client.

Download the files from your Web server.

Now, your ';Web site'; is sitting on your machine and you can do whatever you like to it. Update your files to your heart's content. When you are satisfied, upload this modified files back to your Web server.

First off, who owns the site? You do, right?

You have every right to make changes whenever you wish to as long as you own the domain name and are paying for the hosting service.

It all depends on where your site is hosted and who has the passwords and such to access and make the changes. If you have all of that, then you can change the password so that they can no longer make any changes and you can develop your own site, or get someone reliable to make the changes you want.

If you need help in finding out information regarding this, feel free to contact me. I檇 be happy to assist you with as much as you need.
