Our website www.ravenpetproducts.com was built using Frontpage using a 1024x768 foremat. We bought a new wide screen monitor and rebuilt our web page but it changed the 1024x768 to a wide screen foremat and now people who do not have wide screens have to scroll side to side to read it. For example: Going to http://www.google.com, right-click, view source, copying the html, and pasting it into notepad. Then you could make changes to it, like changing the background to blue, and removing the search buttons, etc. After that you could save it as sdfkgh.htm. I use a wysiwyg web software. I am happy with it. But if I add one new product with a picture to one page, and just ftp that page over the old page, it changes everything on the page. I updated my webpage a few days ago, and someone in New York said that they were seeing a very old page. Aside from the Cache, do you think that a cheaper hosting provider would do a worse job of getting my website changes out across the web to the different internet providers?
Or maybe it is the person's internet provider that is slow in getting my changes up???

No, the ISP has nothing to do with any of that. If the page is updated on your server, then the changes will be reflected immediately to everyone who visits your site. That person could have been looking at an archived version of your site on another server (like Google's cache) or simply seeing something saved on their computer. base on my experience it either isp or the visitor. i experienced in my previous isp that save websites in their cache and updates it occassionally. so when i upload my website, people with the same isp with me don't see the updates.
the other reason maybe the visitor has not updated its cache in their computer. they have to refresh their browser and sometimes need to delete their cache and temporary internet files then revisit the site.

I'm making a website for a little business type thing I'm starting. I decided to use webs.com because it's easy to use, and I know how to do what I need to. I haven't thought of a name for it yet, so I'm wondering if I could call it something temporarily, then when I think of something good, I can change it. Can't do that on any free hosting site unless you delete your free account and make a new one with the new name. That means you need to make sure you have a backup of your site on your computer so you can upload the files again.

How do you change FrontPage scroll bar sizing?
We have FrontPage 2003 and we're trying to figure out how to change the website so that you can view the whole page on the internet. It cuts itself off at the bottom so you can't go down any further when we have more stuff to show.
Who knows how to change the vertical scroll bar on the right-handside's length so it can go down further?
We also did an inventory page using tables, and it cuts the table short.

Load the page into Notepad++, or some other text editor, rip out all the Front Page crap (which will be about 90% of it) and fix up what's left so it's sane. (If you don't have a lot of HTML experience, just start over in a text editor - it'll take you months or years to figure out what's in that file that FP created. Most of it's not HTML, it's Microsoft HTML, which is only a distant relation to what web browsers need.)

You can't. The original website files are stored on his machine and uploaded through whatever host he is using. Unless you have his password you cannot change his website.

ok, I am presuming that you are talking about the default settings, any page can be viewed in any browser, minus the ones that specify that they require certain one; usually this is microsoft requiring internet explorer. in mozilla go to tools%26gt; options%26gt; on the general tab check the box that says ';Firefox should check to see if it is the default browser when starting.'; Also, click the button check now, then answer yes, make firefox my default browser. Just choose a really dumb name for the second account that no one would want, so that you don't take a name from someone else.

How do you change a website's address?
I don't know if that is correct terminology, but my roommate made it so whenever I try to log onto facebook, it takes me to yahoo. I gave him my password once so he could look up something for me, now he's trying to play a joke. :-| I'm not laughing. I've seen this done once, but I forgot how to do it. I downloaded a free CSS XHTML website template and its on my site www.windaytrader.com and I need to change the phone number (top right of the page) and some of the tab text words but I can't seem to do it.
I can change most of the text in Dreamweaver but some of it seems to be as part of the actual image, maybe a layer or something, is there a software program that could let me edit the whole image to change the text?

Dude, you gonna have to do some patchwork here since you don't sound like a webmaster.
Easiest way is to hide away the object with some image or text.
In Dreamweaver, Go to Insert- Layout objects - AP Div
This will give you new layer, place it over the unwanted object.

Locate and place some image (same sized or larger) there.

How can I change a website once uploaded to the hosting place.?
I've never set up a website on a hosting site before - so excuse me for this newbie question. :-)
How can I make changes to my website (read, change the html code) once I've uploaded all files to my host via FTP?
Do I have to change single files and folders on my desktop and upload them again?
Can I change the html code directly when I visit my domain?
Do I have to change the files in the FTP client?
Or do I have to make the changes somewhere in the mySQL database?

Just re upload the changed files to the server. You may be able to change the code directly depending on your hosting service through some online apps they give when you log into their service(not FTP).How can I change a website once uploaded to the hosting place.?
