Have an acer(Aspire 3610) laptop,and lately it is very slow to change from one website to another?

I try to delete cookies and info from temporary files,but that doesn't seem to work.Could it be the memory is getting too full,and if so how does one find out how much memory is used and how much is left and how does one delete most memory from the laptop,any suggestions?Have an acer(Aspire 3610) laptop,and lately it is very slow to change from one website to another?
